| How is it, I have only just finished updating January and February is nearly over! Samuel is growing by the day. He is often giving big beautiful smiles and has a wonderful time chatting away. I don't remember Hannah ever 'talking' so much. In the last few days he is trying to push himself up, and does occasional attempts at rolling. An impatient little lion we have here. I keep telling him to enjoy his 'babyhood'. I remember Mum telling me to enjoy my Youth.... I know know what she meant :o) Hannah is a wonderful little girl. She loves her little brother so much that I am still worried she might smother him with love. She along with baby brother is chatting away. She is still not saying that many words but she is now singing 'bababa la la' to the tune of songs. I feel really proud when I work it out to sing along. Between the two kids I sometimes think I wont have any 'quiet time'. She is really being affected by me packing the unit up. It is taking it's toll her being irratable. 21-29th January 2010 Cousins Yiipee our Big cousins have arrived! Hannah was very excited. Samuel and Hannah both got to swim so much more with friends to help. We had a great time. Swimming, rock climbing playing with Dad & Helen, having cupcakes with Colly (Hannah loved Collys cupcakes!) Zoe and Mattie were great climbers! I was so impressed. Even Hannah wanted to have a go. Chris had a great time having a climb and watching the kids - we were so proud of them They pushed their limit of fear and kept trying. Good on you kiddos! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sat night we had Zoe and Mattie for sleep over. We had a swim before dinner and woke up early for another swim!! I've swam more in the last few days than I have had in ages. This morning we were water babies for 2 hrs! then went and had a play in the park with Colly. Colly Lolly made some cupcakes for morning tea. Hannah ate as many as the big kids! Yummo!!! Hannah is now sound asleep while the big kids watch a movie. It is hard for them on such a beautiful day to be stuck inside... but what can we do? I had a hard night last night with Hannah as we ended up having a later than normal night to have the promised swim (we all had fun but poor Hannah gets over tired). ![]() 23rd January 2010 Changes Today I noticed my little mans hair is falling out. I remember when Hannahs started to fall out. It was quite traumatic realising that she was only just 'mine' and I was loosing part of her already. I thought it would be a different feeling with the second... WRONG! I am now looking at my shirt where there is a little of his hair :o(. I was talking to Clancy Pants this morning on skype. She was saying how Hannah is more and more looking like me and Samuel like Chris. I wonder how they will morph next. Hannah did look like Chris and now me, will she go back to looking like Dad? The wonders of growin up. This afternoon I saved Samuel from Hannah .... again.... Hannah had decided to eat some tissue - then share it!!! I pulled a big wad out of Samuels mouth. Poor guy. 21st January 2010 Last Day of Baby School at ABC Today was Hannahs last day in Baby School. She goes upto Toddlers next week! To get them ready for the change Laura our lovely teacher has been preparing them with sleeping on the floor rather than cots and eating at tables. I always wonder what our big girl does at school. Well now I know - eat and sleep... there must be more to life but I hope not (Garfield) ![]() ![]() 16th- 20th January 2010 Country Kids On Saturday morning Hannah, Samuel and I headed off for the drive down to Grafton to see the family. What a treck. About 4 hrs of driving with two little kids. I was worried. As it turned out the drive was great. No traffic (thank god!) and very little road works. All in all Hannah was fantastic. She slept, ate and sang. Samuel slept and drank. I think I need a mirror to look at Samuel. It was hard driving where there was nowhere to pull over wondering when the last time you heard him grunt. All in all, Samuel woke up very hungry about 1/2 hr from Grafton. There was absolutly no way I was going to sit for a few hours on the side of the road when we were so close to home. I'm Not Stopping For Anything! So I propped a bottle up for him and off we went. I think that was the most stressful part of the drive. When we arrived poor Marco and Kath had a cyclone jump out of the car asking Marco to get the kids while I ran through the house looking for the toilet. By the time I got out Marco had Hannah and Kath had Samuel in great big cuddles. Phew I'd made it in one piece ... with all my hair! Over the time we were in grafton we had a good dose of the country cousins. I love it! And a good dose of family is often all the doctor ordered. We went over to Craig & Jo's place for a Jelly bath with Alice! All I can say is Yuck Yuck Yuck!!! all the kids can say is Yay! Yay! Yay! I was quite happy to hose them off at the end. ![]() While we were there we swam in Byllies little pool. It was great fun. We had a massive fire at Craigo's property. We danced and sang under the stars. Hannah climbed all over the bull dozer. ![]() Alice, the true "Super Star"gave us a fashion parade. Designed and dressed by big sister Madeline. Starting with "Dunny Designs" (a whole outfit made from toilet paper) then onto scarfs. I never knew you could have so many outfits from a piece of material! Marco took Hannah for her first skateboard ride. She LOVED it! First starting on his hip, then being the 'titanic girl' out the front, followed by the shoulder ride. I could hear her hooting and laughing up the street. ![]() ![]() When Hannah had mastered all of those he took her for a real ride! Feet on the board zooming down the street (between Marcos legs!) How on earth am I meant to entertain her after that? 11th January 2010 Redcliffe What a beautiful day. Today Byllie came up with us to Redders to drop stuff off at the shed. On the way back we stopped off at the beach to play. It was so relaxing. Byllie sat under the tree with Samuel, while I took Hannah down to the water to splash with our feet... How wrong I was. Hannah ran straight in! It is a great place for Hannah. It has very little waves- that is enough to push her over, but not big enough to scare her. In the end I was soaked right upto my nickers. Why did I wear long pants??? But the fun. Chasing the waves and the birds. She was in heaven. Thanks Byl for a great day. ![]() ![]() |
